    3. If you live in MI and can get to Manistee to the Historical Museum, they have a card index that includes every name on all readable headstones in cemeteries in Manistee County. If you can't get there you might also try calling them and see if someone can look it up for you (don't know how much of this they do). Their phone number is (616) 723-5531. I don't know the particulars about the fire, but if you email your GGGrandfather's date of death to me, I can see if there is a death return at the Library of MI tomorrow (Sat.) when I go there to do some genealogy research. I can at least write down the information I find and email it to you. Maybe there is a record filed in Lansing that you could order. I am looking for the death record and gravesite for my GGGrandfather, Charles Frenette and have been unable to find it at the Courthouse. The only clues that I have are those that were provided to me by an older aunt of mine-he is buried somewhere near the Manistee County line and the records burned in a fire. Another aunt says he is buried just east of Manistee. He lived near Cleon/Copemish area and I have been unable to find his grave in the cemetaries surrounding that area. Any suggestions? > > Thanks!!
