So the upshot is: the research required is not worth the results. As for the Declaration of Intent (the first stage of naturalization), the only information I've seen on them is the person's signature or mark. What they signed is a form showing only that they renounce the [fill-in-the-blank], e.g., the King of Norway and Sweden, or the Head Honcho of Outer Slobbovia. There's nothing telling what town they came from, when they landed, or what ship they came on. Because my opinion is that look-ups in these records, at least for Manistee County, are not worth my trouble, I have not volunteered to do it. Good luck otherwise, Carol S.
