Can anyone help me find a birth in Manistee Co. I have a grandfather who has always went by Roy Elwin Lindahl b.11 Dec 1907 in Manistee MI. He has tried to get his birth certifcate from Manistee Co and they don't have a record of it. BUT.... He was not born Roy Elwin Lindahl His mother is Helen Mae Jones of Manistee and she was single when she had him. She married a man name Ole Lindahl who raised Roy and so Roy carried his name. I don't know if he was adopted legally or not. Is there anyway to find those records. I don't know if Roy would have been listed as Roy Jones or if he would have carried the last name of the family Helen was living with and I don't know what that name would have been. She was a housekeeper for a family. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Beth
