Did the John Jefferson Stanton family include a Rosa Stanton who m. Calvin Dinger and/or a Wesley (John Wesley?) Stanton who became a Methodist minister? Rosa was my aunt, and Wesley was a friend of my parents. I don't have any further information about them. Ken mailto:pkmorse@speedfactory.net

He was my ggreat grandfather and I know virtually nothing about him as his son, my grandfather, Charles Albert Stanton died in 1922 when my mother was 1 yr. old. All the immediate family members are dead & cousin scattered who knows where? I tried looking in the 1880 census but do not have a clue on where he was living...NY, Kansas, MI? If any family members have any info. to share I would so appreciate it and be tickled to hear from you. A photo of his grave would be treasured. His wife, my ggreat grandma, possibly was buried in Manistee Co. also. Her name was Mary Wilcox STANTON, she died in 1893 in Cleon Twp. I was told. John & Mary had several children besides Charles A. Would it be possible to get a scanned image of the photo you have. My Grandmother might have been in K in 1912.
The Roster I was refering to was roster 3, New York soldiers by the organization of New York Soldiers living in Michigan. I found it on the Michigan American History and Genealogy Project page it was under links on the Michigan page. Hope this helps

You are not too late. I was just visiting Manistee, my family homesteaded there. Thanks for the response, I didn't know where Fountain was either.
Hi, I know this is probably kind of a late response, but....I live in Manistee Michigan, and fountain is about 10 miles south of Manistee. Hope this helps out. Just a note to let everyone know that I will be offline for about 2 weeks while we are moving. I'll post new E-mail contacts at the Manistee County website as soon as I am back online. The GenConnect boards have gone through an overhaul to a new format, everything is combined on one board at the present time. This means Obits, Wills, Bible Records and Biographies are all on the Query Page now. The server space has been increased also. One new element that is coming soon is a global E-mail change you can utilize to update your E-mail address on every board worldwide at one time. The changes are still being made, but the new system should be more efficient and much easier to use... Nedra NEvans7115@aol.com
