    3. Sorry to be so long in replying. All my relatives are from Poznan ca 1880-1885 and settled in western Michigan as far as I know. They were all Polish-speaking roman catholics. Although DOLKA is sometimes used as a variant spelling of the name, I have only seen it in records from 1870 or earlier. I have no Clara from the period or country you are researching. Sorry. Good luck with your research shu2961@warwick.net wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/JGB.2ACI/54.180 > > Message Board Post: > > my grandmothers name was clara dolka...she came from austria...live in new york until she died... > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237

GROSVENOR's older brother. I also have, with a few exceptions, their GROSVENOR lineage back to John GROSVENOR the Immigrant if you want it. 2. Greetings, just wanted to pass the word around to the local Manistee folks that State Rep. Pete Hooeskra is doing a presentation in Feb. around the 16th in honor of Tsgt. Calvin C. Davis. The Davis family was the first black family in that homesteaded in Manistee, 1862. Anyway, to make a long story short, Calvin Davis was killed in WWII. He is due some medals and the twist of the story is that he wanted to serve his country during the war, and passed for white to do it. Just wanted to share this. Thanks

I have his siblings as being Floyd Franic CROMER born 4 May 1882, Grace CROMER born 17 Jul 1884, Elizabeth A. CROMER born 17 Jul 1885 and a Clyde CROMER born after 1885. This does not mean this information is accurate but it is from the CROMER family. These were the children of William Harrison CROMER (1859-after 1937) and Elizabeth A. GROSVENOR (1857-after 1937) Your Floyd and Vivian could have been a child of one of William Harrison CROMERS's siblings. I do not know how many of them went to Manistee, MI. When was your Vivian CROMER born and where? I know that William Harrison CROMER had seven other siblings and they were the children of a Harrison CROMER and a Pheobe Ann GASKILL of Shelby County, OH. As for when did they migrate to America -- before the Revolution. We know that William Harrison CROMERS's great-grandfather was Abraham CROMER born 1775 in VA. My interest is only in the GROSVENOR family and Elizabeth A. GROSVENOR was my wife's great-grand aunt and younger sister of her great-grandfather, De. Alvah Whitney GROSVENOR (1856-1936) of Sidney, Shelby County, OH.
