He died in Manistee in 1902. Hopefully, there are descendants to these children living in the area. I would appreciate hearing from you! Thank you, Carol Schimke, for looking up the information on IGNATZ VOGEL at the courthouse. I appreciate it. Karen
I am trying to find out any information on Michael CRANE who appears in the 1880 Michigan census in the city of Manistee on Harrison Street. Michael (age 40) and wife Margaret (age 38) were immigrants from Ireland, and they had 8 children listed: Cornelius (age 18) Mary Ann (age 16) Kate (age 14) Anna (age 12) Josephine (age 10) Lillie (age 8) Ella (age 6) Rosella (age 1) I have not been able to track this family any further forward--they don't appear in the 1900 Michigan, Illinois or Wisconsin censuses that I can find. I would imagine that most of the daughters would be married by 1900. This family has also been known to use the spellings CREAN and CRAINE. If anyone has access to Catholic marriages or deaths in Manistee after 1880 or any suggestions on tracing any of these family members, I'd greatly appreciate hearing from you. I am also willing to do research in Chicago in exchange for research on this family in Manistee. Kathleen Craine Chicago kac522@aol.com

I do not know if he was named for a relative or not. My grandpa Lauri Salo came to Ontario, Canada, from Michigan. I dont know anything about his family at all. He married Toini Maria (and i dont have her maiden name yet.) I do not know when he came to canada, if he had siblings, cousins or not. He was born January 17, 1908, and my grandma Toini was born August 12, 1905. They had 4 children, 1 died as a baby. Other children's names are Donnie(finnish name Tauno), Arvo(my dad), and Diana. All I know about my grandma was that she came to Canada with a couple of her aunts, at about age 18. Her parents died in Finland from some sort of plague. I have a picture of her as a child, with other children and a woman who I assume is her mother, and it seems that she had 1 sister and 2 brothers. Anyone who has any further information on the Salo clan, that may be linked to what I have said here, please please contact me. I can ! probably find out more when I talk to my dad. I have just started this project and my dad is out of town. I can post any more information I get. I have ICQ-14771874, MSN messenger- caryn08@hotmail.com. Thank you.
I would like to look at the obituary section for October, 1912 to find my grandfataher, Charles Richard RABEY. He died while working on a construction project in North Carolina. Unfortunately, North Carolina doesn't start to keep death records until 1913. I'm having a hard time documenting he and his family other than the census. They lived at 226 6th Ave. in Manistee in the 1910 census. The great grandparents (Thomas Henry RABEY and Mary Ann) lived at 231 5th Ave. in Manistee, Michigan. I'd appreciate any help on tracking Charles Richard RABEY. Thank you, Charr
