    1. [MiMacomb] migration routes

    3. My Tincknell ancesters are first enumerated in the 1870 census in Macomb County, and all sources state that they immigrated from England in that year. I have been searching ships passenger records for 1870 for New York as the assumed port of entry, since family history has it that they brought with them another younger relative whom they dropped off in upstate New York on their way west. Thus far, I have had no success. Could any list members suggest a different port of entry? Did other immigrants arrive through a Canadian port, for example? Any suggestions on possible migration routes would be most appreciated. Thanks, Mel
