Researchers can find my most recent project in booklet form at the Mt Clemens and St Clair Shores Public Libraries: The DEFER Family of Pleigne Switzerland and Macomb and Wayne Counties MI. This booklet contains copies of original documents relating to Francois Urs DEFER and Pierre BEINDIT which will be of interest to the many local researchers, as well as charts and maps. The charts identify allied families from about 1745-1880. 19th Century French-Swiss immigrants married easily into the long established French-Canadian community in Macomb, St Clair and Wayne Counties. Exhibit #13 contains a 7 generation descendant chart which will enable researchers to find related surnames. Swiss ancestors are also identified. The Introduction mentions important websites with associated Swiss information, especially important for identifying other emigrants from the Jura.
