I decided to put the corrected information on the board because I was forgetting how the names had been indexed. Ancestry has a place on the census board where you can add info, etc. so I thought that when I posted corrected information I would be able to find the person again as well as help anyone else who was interested in my surnames. That is not what is happening. I, too, feel that the local community can do a better job since they are more familiar with names but I can sympathize with those trying to transcribe the records. I worked on the GENDIS and even beautiful handwritting can cause problems. Again, thanks for the information
