Ed, Would there have been any kind of city directory published for this area during the 40s? If so, you should be able to search by the address. In addition, did you look in the 1930 census for that address? Perhaps they were living there at that time. I have also looked up the land records for the house, but Stanley must have rented since his name was not in the deed history. My next thought was to check with the police for a record of the accident. The house is in what is now Sterling Heights. Does anyone know if the old Sterling Twp. records would reside with Macomb County or Sterling Heights?
