Sterling Tent #3 of the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, 1861-1864, active in the Detroit metropolitan area, issues an invitation for membership to all direct lineal blood descendants of those who served in the Union Army, Navy, Marines or Revenue Cutter Service during the Civil War, 1861-1865. The advantages of membership are many and include regular meetings with women who share the same interests and have a common heritage, the opportunity to hold an office, attend State and National Conventions as a delegate, and most importantly, honor the memories of our brave ancestors who fought to save the United States Flag. As stated in our website, “Every woman, descended from a Union Veteran will welcome the opportunity to preserve her Civil War Heritage for posterity, while honoring and revering her Civil War ancestry by affiliating with this Order”.
