Please join us next Tuesday, March 7 for the regular meeting of the Oakland County Genealogical Society. The topic of the program will be "Placing your Ancestors in Historical Context." Genealogist Sharon Brevoort, using timelines and chronologies, helps us visualize the life and times of our ancestors, to locate new sources and avoid pitfalls by identifying inconsistencies early on in the research process. Related on-line and software resources will be covered. The Oakland County Genealogical Society meets at 7:00 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 5500 North Adams (between Long Lake and Square Lake roads), Troy. The Church has a flat entrance and ample lighted parking. Meetings are open to the public and free of charge. All are welcome. Note: Adams Road is closed (for at least a year) between Maple and Big Beaver. From the south, take Woodward or Coolidge to Long Lake, then proceed to Adams and north to the Church.
