Hi, I wonder if anyone has a vivid memory of attending their first funeral? I never attended a home wake- but remember the first visit at Turowski Funeral Home on Scotten in Detroit. To this day I do not gladiolus. They remind me of that first funeral. I'm not sure who it was for - perhaps Konstanty "Gus" Sopko - an uncle - but I remember the sight of the flowers. I am interested in strong funeral impressions to include in my books on Mt. Olivet and Mt. Elliott. All ethnic groups are of interest.
