Does anyone know if death records for the Catholic church are by married name or maiden name. I am talking about the ones from St Peter that are mostly in French. Kayleen Pawloski:)
A few years ago, Al Sierens, an exceptional researcher in Mt Clemens, published the burial records for St Peter's [in English] from 1869-1939. It looks like the women are listed by their married name, but if the maiden name was known, it is included in the body of the entry. For example: Peltier, Lena, died 7 September 1892, wife of Albert Peltier, born Lena Bartrow.
