Looks like you might have found your "Flats". Here's another local Flats.... My Mom grew up along Romeo Plank Rd in Clinton Twp and the low area by the Clinton River and its associated branches/creeks (cricks as Mom called them) was referred to as "The Flats". You didn't plant on the flats because it flooded out just about every year. (Still does but now they're building on them.) Her Dad's family held a family picnic on the flats just about every year when she was growing up.
