Betty Hamilton, 92, a lifetime resident of Romeo, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Clinton Township. She was born Sept. 1, 1908 in Macomb County, the daughter of Gustav and Marie (Hillman) Schmidt. In 1941 she married Roy M. Hamilton in St. Clair. Mrs. Hamilton taught in the Spangler School in the Almont area for four years then taught in several county schools in the Romeo area. She retired from Washington Elementary School in 1974 after teaching 46 years. Hamilton-Parsons Elementary School was named after her and Mrs. Elizabeth Parsons. Mrs. Hamilton was a lifetime member of St. John Lutheran Church. She is survived by a step-daughter Emily McFadden of Imlay City; a sister, Grace Aikman of Washington Township; and one granddaughter.
