Ann As you know death is before state vitals. If you can narrow who lived in that area in that time period (atlas, deeds, etc.) then I suggest contacting the area churches from that time who may have surviving records from that time period. Explaining there's a tombstone involved may get you an answer faster than a normal query. Lisa
