    3. I take it you have Rhoda & Marvin in 1850, right? Marvin looks as if he's the younger brother of Orrin W SCOTT and perhaps Susan HART. Since Orrin W SCOTT is a tailor and Elisha HART is a merchant, perhaps they're in the Genesee County [or other county] history. Following Orrin certainly seems a hope...following his line may be as useful as tracing Marvin's. Have your queried at a rootsweb message board--either surname or geographical location? Have you found Orrin in 1860? Try finding Orrin or Marvin in a turn of the century county history, if you haven't already done so. There are two Macomb County histories which ought to tell about Marvin if he was an early Romeo school principal. In you haven't already done so, be sure to check here: http://www.libcoop.net/mountclemens/genealog.htm search for the Leeson and also the Eldredge Macomb County histories, there might be something about the Romeo schools. It is thought that he was the Principal of Romeo High School at some point. Loretta Crawford was on the 1860 census of Washington Township, Macomb Co. She was age 24 and a teacher. When she married Marvin J. Scott in 1861 she was "of Byron". I'm wondering if that is where her family lived? Loretta died 31 January 1866 and Marvin J. Scott remarried 26 March 1867. His second wife was Mary E. Telling. My goal is to determine who Marvin J. Scott's parents were. He was born in 1832 in LeRoy, Genesee Co. to _______ and Rhoda Scott. He was in LeRoy, Genesee, NY in 1850 and in Waterford, Oakland, MI in 1860. Any ideas or suggestions?
