He died 28 Aug 1869 testate at Armada. By his will dated 1863 he left everything to his wife Rebecca. The petition filed by Evert J Waldron (brother of Rebecca) states that his only heirs were his wife Rebecca, sisters Lizzie Boltenhouse & Sally Burkstar (Burkslater?) of Macomb Co, sister Rebecca Vokes of New York and the children of Polly Smith a deceased sister. The 1830 census shows William & Rebecca with a male age 15-20 who would be too old to be their son. The 1840 census shows them with a female 20-30 (too old to be a child) and a male 5-10. These might be Phebe Stroup age 35 and James Smith (probably a son of his sister Polly) who were living with them at the age of 15 in the 1850 census. Actually this family lived in Ray Twp, not Macomb Twp. Russell, you said that you might know William's parents. Do his siblings as listed above go along with what you have? Ann
