Hi list: I have finally traced my McQuades to Michigan, Richmond to be exact. They turn up there in 1870 and again on the 1880 census. Robert and Elizabeth McQuade, both born in Ireland and both approx. in 1814. They came to Canada first and had 4 children. Susan 1844, David 1846, Job 1848 and Rebecca 1850. Rebecca is my 3X great grandmother and stayed in Canada. Susan is still a mystery (can't find a marriage in Ontario or Michigan yet) David, married and had 3 children, who sadly all died within a month in 1881 of dyptheria. They were in Saginaw, Mich. at the time. In order to find out where in Ireland Robert and Elizabeth came from, I need to find their death certificate and then possibly their gravestone may have the county on it. So if there is anyone in or near Richmond, Michigan who has access to this information, I would love to here from you. They died sometime between the 1880 and 1900 cenus'. I'm hoping there is an obituary for them in a local paper. I also know that Job, was still in the area on the 1900 census. Don't know if he ever married &/or had children.
