At the Toledo Public Library I used a book with this citation: EARLY LAND TRANSFERS DETROIT AND WAYNE COUNTY, MICHIGAN Volumes A, B, C 1703-1796 MICHIGAN WORKS PROGRESS ADMINISTRATION VITAL RECORDS PROJECT Michigan State Library and Daughters of the American Revolution Louisa St. Clair Chapter, Sponsors 1936 In it on page 190 I found this reference: STEDMAN, John pur. fr. David Meldrum and Wm. Bruce, July 18, 1767, house, lot and appurtenances, within the fortifications between St. Ann Street and St. Lewis Street, bounded on the W.S.W by a street without a name. Vol. A, pg 12. My question is this: Who is this David Meldrum who owned a house and lot in Detroit in 1767, and how does he relate to the George Meldrum who is a partner in Meldrum and Park later? or for that matter to George's son David who was a Macomb county landowner. Does anyone know?
