Utica Sentinel Aug. 5 1899 Frederick Kandt, father of J.W. Kandt, of this village, an old resident of Waldenburg, concluded to visit his native land, Germany. Though nearly eighty years old, he is still hearty and rugged. He started from Mt. Clemens June 13th, and what was quite unusual his seven sons were there to bid him good bye and wish him God speed on his jouney. He was accompanied by Mr. Gutschow, an old resident of Mt. Clemens. At Jersey City they took the steamer Prince Leopold for Bremen, Germany, thence to Berlin, near which palce Mr. Kandt was born. They expect to return in September.
