Both Christopher and Nancy were deceased by 1888 , so Bennett may have been orphaned and moved out of the area . He would have been about 8 years old . There is a Bennett Welch listed in the SS Death Index that was born in 1881 in Va and died in1968 in Washington , Macomb Co. , MI . I believe he could be the one I have been looking for .
