    3. I am another person who learned of Al Sierens death, November 9, with a heavy heart. Al was a friend, a mentor, and fellow-researcher who willingly shared his large fund of genealogical knowledge of Macomb County pioneers. He was an outstanding person and a tireless genealogist. Our correspondence and friendship goes back to 1987. He helped with me by sharing documentary abstracts, family charts and advice on a number of lines, including MAISON, BLAY, TROMBLEY, DICE, DEFER, SALGAT, VAN ATTER, MILLER and more. Packages of materials he sent were extensive, meticulously documented, methodically organized and filled with helpful suggestions. It was Al Sierens who published the Marriage and Burial records of St Peter's, Mt Clemens [a famously difficult church for genealogical research]. And his work on the CHARBONNEAU'S, his maternal line, is legendary. I know I was only one of many people whom he helped. It was my pleasure to know and work with Al Sierens and I will miss him very much. Lorelei Maison Rockwell, California
