    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/IGB.2ACI/97.1 Message Board Post: My great grandfather was Wilhem Frederick Klauka, who was born in Finsterwalder (former East Germany) on July 27, 1856 , and came to the US in 1913 sailing from Aachen. He married Katherine Klauner in 1879, and they had 13 children, but only five lived past infancy. All came to Amercia and finally settled in St.Louis MO. Paul Klauka, by great grandfather's nephew also came with him and settled in St.Louis MO. His daughter, Gertrude married Joseph Jaocb Snarzyk in 1923 in St.Louis, and one of their 2 daughters, Mary, was my mother. Paul married Paulette ?? and had no children - that I am aware of. All five living children moved to the US with their parents, and have family throughout Illinois. Ted Klauka of Joliet, IL was the only male Klauka of the five living children. He had one daughter, Katie, so the name "Klauka" on my side, ended with him. The other children born were daughters, and of course married and carried with them different last names. While I realize that your line is in Michigan, there appears to be only 2 lines in the US - mine and your line in Michigan. Is there a possible connection??
