[Given names ASSUMED to be Johann Carl, based on names found in biographic sketch (John), passenger list (Carl) & census (Charles).] Johann may have married twice. Family legend says that Emilie, Edward & Julius are half-siblings of Johann’s younger children. First wife’s name is unknown. Johann’s wife who came to America was probably Frederike Wilhemine (surname unknown). On the 1864 passenger list, she appears as “Frdrk”. In the 1880 census, she shows as “Wilhelmen”. She was born about 1810, and died between 1880 and 1900. One researcher thinks her surname may have been KIRKOW. Johann’s son-in-law, Ferdinand Wolff, was from “Fridberg”, perhaps a mis-spelling of Friedeberg. Daughter-in-law Ulriche Wilhelmine Becker was from Stolzenberg, Pommern. Parents of daughter-in-laws Charlotte and Augusta Heidenfeldt were from Hermsdorf, Friedeberg, Pommern. Son Gustav said he and parents were born in Posen. Other census data for Johann & his children say origin is Prussia. A great grand-daughter said son Edward and Edward’s first two children were born in Berlin. Johann emigrated from Bremen Germany 1864, steamer NEW YORK, arrived NY USA 10/25/1864. Recorded as Carl LAMBRECHT, age 62, occupation farmer, on passenger list.
