    1. [MiMacomb] 1930 Census Index for Macomb County
    2. Debbie Larsen
    3. Mount Clemens Public Library is pleased to announce the debut of the 1930 Census Index for Macomb County. This every-name index provides the name, age, residence, enumeration district, sheet number, and line number for each of the 77,146 individuals listed in the Macomb County portion of the 1930 federal census. Indexing is still in progress, but has been completed for the following areas: Mount Clemens, Harrison Township, Selfridge Field, Lake Township and Fraser. Portions of Clinton Township, Chesterfield Township, Roseville and Center Line have been entered into the database and new data is being entered on a daily basis. We will announce the completion of each city/township on this list as it occurs. You may also consult the index homepage for an update on the current status of the index. When indexing of the entire county is completed, the database will be Soundexed and a Soundex search will be added to the homepage to assist researchers in finding entries with spelling variations. Thanks go to librarians Margaret Hindley and Kristy Taormina, and genealogy volunteers Ann Faulkner, Herb Savage and Lisa Eschenburg for the long hours of indexing that they are contributing to the project. The index may be searched at: http://offserv.libcoop.net/mtc/1930census.asp It is also linked from the genealogy page of the library's web site at: http://www.libcoop.net/mountclemens Happy hunting!
