    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/IGB.2ACI/220.1.1 Message Board Post: Thank you Mindy I was able to prove who Ann Robertjeanne really was. I found a census for 1880 in Mount Clemens where a Nancy Trombley was listed as the sister in law of a man named Henry Roberts. Henry's wife was listed as Francis (this would be Nancy's sister). There was also a Benjamin Trombley listed as Nancy's son. Ann was known as Nancy so I checked Denession to see if Nancy had a sister listed as Francis. (Quite a few genealogists thought Nancy Trombley was really Thusette Robertjeanne the daughter of Joseph Robertjeanne. I checked that on page 1087 of Denissions book but Thusette did not have a sister named Francis but did have one named Leonie who is shown as being married to a Honorius Henry Robert. I have shown this evidence to several Trombley genealogists who agree that Nancy Trombley is in fact Ann/Nancy/Thusette Robertjeanne. I have also been supplied with other data from a researcher in Macomb that also substanciates this and she is in agreement with me on t! he identity of the ever elusive Ann Robertjeanne. Thank you for your assistance. Dave

Donald W. Broome moved to Baltimore, Maryland around 1920 ending the Broome connection to Michigan. CONNOR was last in Mount Clemens with William M being born possibly in Canada about 1840. CRESSY was last in Mount Clemens going back to Alfred R Cressy born 1840 in Macomb County. BOLTE was last in Mount Clemens with Cathererine L but not sure of origins. HARRINGTON was last in Mount Clemens and is tied to the Connors but not sure if my Connor is related to Richard Connor.

    3. Sometime back I found a site that had the Death of Joseph Gramer in 1896 or 98. I do not believe it was the Mich. Death Data Base, but I could be wrong. If I remember correctly, it was some other listing. Can anyone direct me to the correct site? Thanks, Chuck Suppus --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? It was 73 Loretta then, so they probably changed the numbering since. (My birth record says 72 Loretta). Richard

    2. Linda, Did a quick check of the 1850 Michigan Federal Census, Bruce Twp., Maccomb Co. , dated 2nd day of Aug. and found: 200 - 201 Emerson, Clement 34 m farmer 1500 (value) NY " Fandacy 26 f " " Masetta (?) 11 f " " Mary J. 8 f " " Lydia 5 f MI " Ann 2 f " Emerson William 23 m farmer Canada The 1860 Mich. census also listed Clement and family with Masette (?) the only one not listed . I thought I'd check the marriage index between 1850-1860 for Marsette, but our index doesn't start until 1867. So.... couldn't help there. Hope this helps a little. Ethel

Or you can try to contact the Detroit News or the Detroit Free Press newspapers and see if he is listed. They may be able to do the search for you. Order a copy of his death certificate from the state of Michigan: http://www.michigan.gov/mdch/0,1607,7-132-4645---,00.html The obituary should tell you of any relatives. I would also, contact the Macomb county probate court to find out what happened to his estate. Good luck!

I dont get out to the Mt Clemens library often, but I am sure that there is someone in the area who does. Have them check the city directories for Mt Clemens. I am not sure how far they go back but that should help. I would also have someone check out the probate records for her 1st husband, it would indicate what he left her (if anything). While checking the census, if you come across anyone else with that surname, record it. They may be related. When I flipped through Denisson's book for Robertjeanne, there is one female who was born in 1827 (keep in mind that sometimes they went by a nickname). Pg 1087 Adelaide Robertjeanne b 15 Mar 1827 St Francois Clinton River (no other info given) daughter of ROBERT(5) ROBERTJEANNE (Joseph(4) Robert(3) John(2) Robert(1)) b 20 Aug bp 16 Sep 1800 Detroit m there 18 Jul 1826 Adelaide Senet, b there 8 Sep 1807 dau of John Baptist Senet and Cecilia Greffard. One other sibling listed:Peter b Dec 1829 The marriage certificate of Ann or her bapstimal record should help validify if this could be the same person.

Groom r "Aux Plaines" bride at Clinton River, m 2nd 20 Fed 1855 Mt Clemens ANN ROBERTJEANNE b 1827 widow of Auguste Dedrone. My suggestion would be to write the church in Mt Clemens and see if there is a marriage entry for Ann and Louis. If not, see if there is a burial entry for her first husband Auguste Dedrone. If there is, try asking if they can check for a marriage record from 1 - 5 years. My second suggestion to you, would be to check the census records for Ann listed in 1851 under both her maiden name, and Dedrone name. If you dont see her listed there, try the census for 1831 & 1841 under her maiden name. The census are online. I would also "walk" through other nearby areas such as EastDetroit, Detroit, and the Grosse Pointes (Woods, Farms, etc, a small group of cities south of Mt Clemens).

Eastpointe used to be East Detroit. About 10 years ago, they elected to change the name of the city. So if you are looking for history, keep that in mind. Birth certificates are available only if you have a copy of the death certificate to prove that the person is legally dead. You can order the death certificates online from the state of Michigan by going to the following web site: http://www.michigan.gov/mdch/0,1607,7-132-4645---,00.html You can also order the birth certificates but they need proof that the person has died, so be sure to include the date of death. I will be going to the library in the next couple of weeks and can check for you then. The death certificates should indicate the parents (if known by the informant). You can also search the Social Security Death Index and order a copy of their SS application which oftentimes will have the parents names. You can search this online with Ancestry.

    2. Linda Emerson
    3. Thank you for this complete information, Ann. I will pursue further information on this Clement Emerson to see if he is from the family I am researching. I know it's a long shot, but my intention is to find the children of a Clement Emerson from Cayuga County, NY. He was one of the first settlors of this county and the following notation is made in the History of Cayuga County, 1789-1897: "The children of Clement B. Emerson, moved to Michigan some thirty years ago." Clement B. never left Cayuga County and died there in 1849. The name and the timeframe of the Macomb County marriage record provides a good possibility. Many thanks again... Linda --- Ann Faulkner <faulknea@libcoop.net> wrote: > Macomb Co.
