I believe that John served in the civil war and may have died then or shortly after. I have not found when or where he was buried. The sons moved to NE where Albert and Polly are buried. Norman and Esther then moved with their children to VA. Any info is appreciated.

Children: Mary E, born about 1849 Sarah R. born about 1851 Lena Born about 1853 Merritt E. born 1857 Gains? born about 1860 Charles G, born Feb, 1862 Adella Born about 1866. This family has been difficult to trace - they are in Michigan Armada Township in 1850 and 1860. I have been able to trace Merritt to Iowa, but I don't know what happened to the rest of the family.     2. Yes St. John Lutheran Church in Fraser is still an active church. Organized in 1864, the books (in German) exist from close to the beginning except for one book for the early 1900s or about 1920s (can't remember which, I think it is likely the later) is misplaced. Note: only a handful of the earlist records give the place in Europe where people where born. Just write the church with your question (small donation is always nice).
