Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/IGB.2ACI/170.1 Message Board Post: I have just found Budnick family in the area of Detroit and Macomb Co. It took me years to find them because my Josef Budnick (b. 1866, I believe) died in 1905 and his wife, Anna (actually Anastazia) then married a Goike and the children changed their name to their step=father's name. Have you tried Mt. Olivet Cemetery or Forest Lawn? Both are in east Detroit off Van Dyke and that is where my Budnick's are buried. The Budnick plot is quite big in this section and Josef's parents and brother are also here. Perhaps if you call and spell the last name for the cemetery (Mt. Olivet - I have a difficult time getting info from Forest Lawn), they'll get back to you. I found all my Budnick's in the 1920 and 1930 census and in old directories. You may have to do it that way. 1. [MiMacomb] Eicks, Lovells @ Methodist -Episopal Church
    2. David & Lori Eick
    3. Am researching Eicks and Lovells. Would like information about the "City of the Dead" cemetery by the Clinton River. Does it have another name? Are there any Eicks buried there? Also, where could I find records from the Methodist Episcopal Church in Utica? I have been told some of my ancestors may have attended there for Sunday School as children in 1890's. My grandfather, Edward Eick, was living in Washington township in 1930, according to the census. His wife Ellen ( Lovell) and their two young sons were with him. According to Oral history, they may have had a home fire in the late 1920's or early 1930's, while in Macomb County. I have found no record of it. Edward had a brother Conrad Eick, who also lived in Macomb County in 1930. I think he died during the 1930's, but I can find no record of him other than the 1900 and 1930 census'. Other siblings whose names I found on various census records included Richard, Walter, Mary, Emma, Ida, and Martha. Their parents names were Charles and Ida (Trent or Fruendt) Eick. Charles Eick died 1924 and is buried in Utica Cemetery. Ida died about 10 years later and is supposedly buried next to him. Also researching Lena Lipke and Alvina Shultz, both listed on different documents as my grandfather's mother. David Eick Thank you daleick@frws.com

    1. [MiMacomb] Mc Closkey, Oliver, Warren Mich.
    2. Hello List, I would like to know if anyone has ever heard of this family (Mc Closkey) I have a letter written to my Grandfather back on Feb 3,1969, this was found in my Grandfathers home when we cleaned it out after his second wife died in 1998. It appears to be from my Oliver line that came from Jefferson, Ohio. In it a Gerry McCloskey talks of old times with my Grandfather, my Great Grandmother and GG Grandmother. this would have been back in the 1920s. In one part she says that Bill, Nordain and I are all, that are left of the Oliver's. She says that in 1958 she was given a bunch of photos of my G Grandmother & GG Grandmother, I only have two photos of each of them. I don't have a lot on this line and would like to connect with one of Gerry McCloskey's 14! grandchildren one of her sons had. I have done a lot of white pages searches in Mich. with no luck with the names I have from the letter She says she is living with a son Gordyn (Gordon) in 1969 I have an address on a Christmas card from 1970 ,12732 Georgiana, Warren 48089. She also says her youngest son Michael McCloskey who is 28 in 1969 teaches school and coaches basketball and football. So if anyone knows of this family or can check some city directories for the name, or can check for an Obit for Gerry McCloskey after 1970 or her husband who died in about 1961, I don't have a first name for him she just said he died 8 years ago in the 1969 letter. This the most lengthily request I have ever made, Thanks for any help and if you need anything from the Summit County Akron area I would be glad to help. Rick in Copley
