Google MCM Studio, Mt Clemens. There's at least one interesting hit there. Looks like MCM stands for Michigan Coalition of Musicians. There's also this at ebay: IRA BERNSTEIN/ Louise Taylor/ Rich At The Roots /PROMO CD. Try some other combinations at Google, I think you can find out more there. The Macomb County Genealogy Group (MCGG) is participating in the Bath City Festival, on Friday & Saturday Aug 25th & 26th in Mount Clemens. The Historical Tent, with many interesting displays from Local Groups, will be open from 11-8 both days. Our table will be right next to the Mount Clemens Public Library (MCPL). Using Military Records for Family History Research, is our theme for this year. Our members have spent a lot of time preparing various displays, research aids, and handouts, and we hope to see some of you at our table. We will also be selling our Heritage Cookbooks with all funds going to the MCPL Local History Room. At the next table the MCPL will be selling "Selfridge Field" authored by Lt. Col. Louis J. Nigro and (local history & genealogy enthusiast) Deborah J. Larsen, Asst. Director of the MCPL. Also, for those interested, the Voyageur's are sponsoring an encampment this weekend (Saturday and Sunday), at Metropolitan Beach by the Nature Center. The voyageur's is a 1600/1700 French and Indian Fur Trappers reenactment group. There will be a lot of interesting displays, things to buy, games for the kids to play and other entertainment. This is an excellent opportunity to see how people lived, ate and worked during that time period. In other words, it's as close to the real deal as your ever going to get. The only cost is a minimal fee for parking. The MCGG will be holding an indexing-work session on Fri. Aug 25th at 1:00 at the MCPL. The primary current project is the indexing of the Macomb County Circuit Court Journals going back to the 1840s. This database will eventually be on the MCPL website, for genealogists all over the world to access. September 6th, 2006 at 7:00 PM will the next meeting of the "Let's Talk" Genealogy Discussion Group in the Community Room of the MCPL. The topic will be "Research at the Library of Michigan and State Archives" in Lansing, Michigan. This is in preparation for a bus trip to the Library & Archives on Fri. Nov. 6th. A copy of our schedules & trip application is available from our webpage on the MCPL website at: http://www.libcoop.net/mountclemens/gengroup.htm On Friday, September 8th at 1:00 PM, Karen L. Jania, Reference Archivist, will be presenting a program on "Using the Bentley Historical Library at the University of Michigan, to the MCGG. All meetings of the MCGG are public and everybody is Welcome. There are no dues, and all funds raised go toward the Local History & Genealogy Room at the MCPL.
