I am researching my HARMS family in Macomb County ... they immigrated from Germany in 1884 or 1885; believe the 1884 State Census would help determine which year. It should have been 22-12-1864 Not 1869!! My appologies. Some time ago I found her (also her husband James) listed in Oakwood Cemetery, Chesterfield, with the dates of death. Later when I went back to look again, I couldn't find the site. But I sent a transcription request in to the Library & they confirmed the info I had. James died 25-5-1905. Thank you for your help. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/IGB.2ACI/602.1.2.2 Message Board Post: Dear John, The State of Michigan has a website for cemeteries that you can search and see if there are transcriptions for the cemeteries. http://michigancemeteries.libraryofmichigan.org/search.aspx It looks like the DAR did a transcription and the book is at the STate Library of Michigan. It may also be at the Mt. Clemens library. Do you have any idea of when the cemetery was opened? If Christina died before the cemetery was established, maybe she is buried elsewhere and Charles is buried with her. Was the family Catholic? Or Lutheran? Maybe they are buried in a church graveyard. Could be that the markers that say Mother and Father belonged to a headstone that is no longer there which would have had the names on it. Georgia
