Did you check the cemeteries where the sons were buried? I am assuming they are deceased. I think that you said that you last found her in East St. Louis,Ill. A death notice might have appeared in the St. Louis, MO newspapers. There are indices to some of the 1940s for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. http://www.slpl.lib.mo.us/libsrc/obit.htm You might want to take a look at what the Mt. Clemens library has in the way of genealogical indices. http://www.libcoop.net/mountclemens/genealog.htm Georgia

ED 35, page 14A shows a James Peltier, age 13, living with his aunt Flora Peltier, age 53 and single. She is the head of household and works as an attendant in a bath house (Mt. Clemens was known for its bath houses). Also living at 15 Franklin street is Flora's brother William age 43 and her sister Elrie (?) age 32. Flora owns the house which is worth $3000.00. The names appeared on an every name index that was done by the Mt. Clemens Public Library. It is so much better than Ancestry's index. http://offserv.libcoop.net/mtc/1930census.asp Check the obituary index for Peltiers that is on the website for genealogy at the library: http://www.libcoop.net/mountclemens/genealog.htm Georgia

I have looked at SS death index. She was probably too old to be working after SS went into effect and had not ever had a SSN. I was posting here because I knew that her sons had moved to Macomb County, MI. and hoped that family might have some knowledge of her. Lloyd Brown, my grandfather, was generally a curmudgeon and had nothing to do with his family. I grew up in St. Clair Shores Barb
