    2. Marilyn L. Arnold
    3. Dear John: I am in Virginia and not familiar with the area, so can't help you directly. However, my approach to these questions is to call existing funeral homes and ask the question of them. And/or ask which funeral homes have been in existence for many years. Those directors are much more likely to know the answers to your questions, since the both know the business and know the area. Do you have his Death Certificate? It often gives both the name of the embalmer, the name of the funeral home and the name of the cemetery..... As to the churches. This sounds Catholic, so I'd call a few Catholic churches and ask the same question. OR contact the local library and see if they have church records from about 1904. Good luck! Merry Christmas! Funeral Home and St Francesca's(?) ChurchInfo Help Hello List- I'm looking for any help locating a funeral home and church around 1904, when my gr-grandfather died. On his funeral record it states that the body was prepared by Hess-Myers, I'm unsure of the correct spelling. It states that the funeral was held at St Francesca's; again the spelling may be incorrect. When he died he was living in Detroit but he had previously lived in Harrison Township in Macomb County for about 60 years. Either of these locations could be possible. He was buried in Mt Olivet but they couldn't give me any additional information on the funeral home or church. In doing some digging, I located a San Francesco church in Clinton Township. I saw a picture of this church and it is obviously quite new. I am looking for any history of the church and also any records. Is there anyone with any familiarity of these two places or anyone that can do a look-up to determine where either was located in 1904? Thanks & SISU! [Given names ASSUMED to be Johann Carl, based on names found in biographic sketch (John), passenger list (Carl) & census (Charles).] Johann may have married twice. Family legend says that Emilie, Edward & Julius are half-siblings of Johann’s younger children. First wife’s name is unknown. Johann’s wife who came to America was probably Frederike Wilhemine (surname unknown). On the 1864 passenger list, she appears as “Frdrk”. In the 1880 census, she shows as “Wilhelmen”. She was born about 1810, and died between 1880 and 1900. One researcher thinks her surname may have been KIRKOW. Johann’s son-in-law, Ferdinand Wolff, was from “Fridberg”, perhaps a mis-spelling of Friedeberg. Daughter-in-law Ulriche Wilhelmine Becker was from Stolzenberg, Pommern. Parents of daughter-in-laws Charlotte and Augusta Heidenfeldt were from Hermsdorf, Friedeberg, Pommern. Son Gustav said he and parents were born in Posen. Other census data for Johann & his children say origin is Prussia. A great grand-daughter said son Edward and Edward’s first two children were born in Berlin. Johann emigrated from Bremen Germany 1864, steamer NEW YORK, arrived NY USA 10/25/1864. Recorded as Carl LAMBRECHT, age 62, occupation farmer, on passenger list. Wife shown as “Frdrk” LAMBRECHT, age 54. Related passengers: Bertha LAMBRECHT, age 7 (daughter?), son Gotthilf LAMBRECHT, age 23, daughter-in-law Charlotte (HEIDENFELDT) LAMBRECHT, age 19. Other families travelling in the group: Daniel & Christine HEIDENFELDT ages 47 & 45, with children Wilhelm, Hulda & Anna (12,7,4). Robert & Charlotte WOLFF, ages 30 & 32, with children Bertha & Gustave (6, 3). Richard KRUEGER, 25, Ottillie KRUEGER 47, Gustav KRUEGER, 7 ½ Albert HERHOLZ, 30, Emilie HERHOLZ, 27, with children Hermine, Lidia, Richard (4,2, & 10 mos) The passenger list showed origin of the entire group as “Stressendorf Pr.” Johann and family joined his son Edward LAMBRECHT and daughter Emilie (LAMBRECHT) WOLFF in Macomb Co or St. Clair Co Michigan, USA then moved to Bay City, MI about 1866. By 1871, Johann was in Chicago. The 1880 census shows “Charles”, age 82, living with wife “Wilhelmen”, age 70, son Gotthilf LAMBRECHT and his family. A 1905 biographical sketch of Ferdinand WOLFF records Ferdinand’s father-in-law as “John” Lambrecht, and reports that he died in Chicago in 1893. Known offspring: (1) Emilie ,aka Amelia, (5/1826 or 5/1828 – 7/23/1904) b Prussia, d Macomb Co MI USA; m on 5/8/1855 to Ferdinand WOLFF (9/8/1831-10/12/1921) of Friedeberg, Pommern, s/o Johann Wolff, abt 1797-1848, & Maria Schmidt (of Hermsdorf, Friedeberg, Pommern) & brother of Robert WOLFF. Ferdinand & Robert were shoemakers. Emilie & Ferdinand’s family emigrated about April 1863 from Bremen, arrived NY USA 7/1/1863 aboard bark Australia. Of their eight children, five were born in Prussia: Augusta, Mary (7/1858-11/1883), Anna (1859-5/1/1928), Louisa (8/1860-bef 1870), Herman (1/9/1863-11/21/1897); Richard (b 9/1865 Macomb Co MI-8/1/1950), Charles (5/15/1868-5/9/1873), and August J.
