They have all the newspapers on microfilm and will do the look up and mail you a copy of the obit, if it is listed, cost should be around $2.00. Or try the Macomb Library for the same information. Libraries usually have the local paper on micrifilm. I don't have the address but if you go to Genealogyspot.com in the left hand column will be the menu click on libraries. You should get the address from there. Macomb Daily Newspaper is also on line but I have found working through the libraries I get good results.

    1. [MiMacomb] WWI Draft registrations, etc.
    2. Deborah Larsen
    3. WWI Draft registrations are organized in (very) rough alphabetical order within counties. Therefore, the Mount Clemens registrations are in the same alphabet as the rest of Macomb County. Mount Clemens Public Library maintains an online index to the Macomb County registrations, which may be searched here: http://offserv.libcoop.net/mtc/draftindex.asp Ancestry.com is scanning the draft registrations and making them available online; however, at last glance they had completed only two states, Michigan not yet among them. Information about reunions for Mount Clemens High School may be found on the Mount Clemens High School Alumni Association web site, here: http://www.mchsalumni.org/ Happy hunting! 3. Fellow Genealogists, (1) Can someone please tell me how the WWI draft registrations for Mt. Clemens vs the rest of Macomb county are formatted. Is it arranged differently than a larger city such as Detroit? (2) Are they available online or CD? (3) How do I find any info about a possible upcoming 50th class reunion for MCHS? (4) Is there a database for newspaper articles, trying to find the outcome of a criminal case that took place in 1986/87? -- Nancy M. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/IGB.2ACI/228.1.1 Message Board Post: Dear Deborah, Thanks for the information. I decided to put the corrected information on the board because I was forgetting how the names had been indexed. Ancestry has a place on the census board where you can add info, etc. so I thought that when I posted corrected information I would be able to find the person again as well as help anyone else who was interested in my surnames. That is not what is happening. I, too, feel that the local community can do a better job since they are more familiar with names but I can sympathize with those trying to transcribe the records. I worked on the GENDIS and even beautiful handwritting can cause problems. Again, thanks for the information
