Died: In St. Ignace township, Sunday, May 30th. Mrs. Esther Santago, aged 65 years. The funeral took place on Tuesday last and was largely attended. Deceased was ill but four days, with abscess in left side, when death relieved her. This was her first Illness. She has always enjoyed the best of health and weighed at her death about 360 pounds. She was a native of Red River, Minn., and was the daughter of the late Antoine Martin, who died in this city some years ago, at the age of 96 years. She came to St. Ignace when 13 years of age and has lived in Mackinac county every since. Her husband, who survives her , was 82 years old last Tuesday and is hale and hearty. He is a native of lower Canada and was brought here when 3 years of age by and Indian family, who raised him to manhood. The name of this family was Mee-San-ta-go, but his right name is Chevalier.
