    2. Dianne Don't quote me on this, but I think it was up to about 1910 or 1920 that all naturalizations were done at the county level. After that it was and still is, handled by Immigration and Naturalization at the Federal level of government. For the most part, these early records can be found in the county seat of the county in question. However, some counties, Mackinac is one of them; have turned all their recordws of Naturalization over to the state archives which is located at Lansing in the same building as the state library and museum in the 700 block of Allegan Street.
