Mi. You said in this particular e-mail post that you weren't related to the Ponds, but were doing research on the French families of the Straits. You also stated you were the daughter of Mildred Ocha d/o Mabel LeBlanc/White d/o William White(brother of Eugene White) Son of Samuel LaBlanc and Elizabeth Belanger. You said you were the first cousin twice removed of my mother Rita White/LaBlanc. All the birth, death, marriage, annunity paylists,Ottawas and Chippewas fieldnotes and the like were on file file at the Sault Saint Marie,Mi,Indian Affairs office..Kim Gravelle who's the tribal specialist for the Michigan tribes in the Soo is also a distant cousin from my father's side of the family and the one who sent me packets and packets of this imformation. It was like Christmas for me. We no longer reside in Michigan and have since moved to Southern California .We live in a triple wide home surrounded by eight orange trees and have mountains all around us.If you still recieve the Synder/Brown/LaBlanc family newsletter you'll see my article in the "LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO" where I tell about our adventure out here.Let me tell you it was quite an adventure at that. Take Care. Cherie Tebo-Eck My father Francis C.Tebo was his adopted name.According to my father's baptismal his name at birth was Francis Nolan Dumas. My father was killed when I was very young so I never had any knowledge of his Indian heritage and my mother hardly ever talked about her family. From the family stories I've heard there were some family problems and not to many of my mother's sibblings had to much to do with one another. So the only imformation I have is what I found on documents.
