I have found extensive information on Bourassa which I have acquired from the following sites: http://genforum.genealogy.com/bourassa/messages/17.html They had 15 children Citizen Potawatomi Nation with lots of Bourassa information....E_mail the Museum director Esther Lowden ELowden@potawatomi.org or for roll information write Mary Farrell http://genforum.genealogy.com/bourassa/messages/279.html - sagnosh@aol.com Part of this information is from the 1863 Tribal Roll for Pottawatomie Indians. There are several Bourassa, w/different spellings, and several Bertrands listed. In some of my notes I show Marguerite Bertrand's brother as Joseph Bertrand married to Madelaine. The Potawatomi, Chippewa and Ottawa were all one Tribe. Then broke off into three bands. I have lots of information on all of these lines. MEMOIRES pub. by the Societe Genealogique Canadienne-Francaise, vol. 22, #3 (Jul-Aug-Sept, 1971), p. 131-153 and continued in #4, p.196-223 has a history of the family "La famille Bourassa de Laprarie" by Philippe Constant. http://pedigree.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/pedview.dll?file=23423&ti=0&name=bourassa Crash9678@aol.com wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Bourassa > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/HGB.2ACI/435 > > Message Board Post: > > i am in the begining phase of this research but if anyone has any info on a William Joesph Bourassa born in 1915 in Boston(or close) He married Mary Elizabeth Barron I believe somwhere in the early 40's.
