1. [MIMac] P.A.P. Loyal Order of Moose Brass Band photo, "Memories of Mackinac"
2. Jeff Farmer
3. On page 290 of the book "Memories of Mackinac" by Judy Ranville and Nancy Campbell, 1976, copy in Mackinac Island Public Library, there's a photo of the "P.A.P. Loyal Order of Moose Brass Band" with a caption identifying the following men: Earl Martin or John Hayes, Mr. Terrian, Elton Dagwell, Mr. Martin, Conrad Olson, Charlie Burroughs, Band Master Bill LaQuea, Grover McVey, Sunday Desy, Bill Martin, Harvey Sailler, Emory Bauers, Doc Kniffen, Oscar Smith, Sam Smith, with several other men unidentified. Can anyone on the list supply a first name for Mr. Terrian? (In the photo, he's the man holding a trombone.) I wonder if he is my greatgrandfather Charles Therrien (1886-1964) of St Ignace. Any information about the photo's where, when--judging by the hats it was taken in the tens or twenties--and who would be appreciated. Thanks! Jeff Farmer

1. Re: [MIMac] History of Naturalization
2. Dianne Don't quote me on this, but I think it was up to about 1910 or 1920 that all naturalizations were done at the county level. After that it was and still is, handled by Immigration and Naturalization at the Federal level of government. For the most part, these early records can be found in the county seat of the county in question. However, some counties, Mackinac is one of them; have turned all their recordws of Naturalization over to the state archives which is located at Lansing in the same building as the state library and museum in the 700 block of Allegan Street. Hope this helps. There is a web site that has indexes of the records available for various counties that are now held by the state. Michigan Naturalization & Citizenship Records Online Resources Check out this page Cindy L.

1. [MIMac] Solomon......Visnaw/Visinaw
2. Betty Kienitz
3. Hello Jack and Marianne, Thank you for maintaining this list.......it is very helpful........God bless you both!!! I wonder if you could check your list for an ancestor of mine. A marriage of Charles Solomon and May Visina(Vizinaw). This couple had a daughter Marie who was baptized on July 2, 1837 so I am assuming they were married a year or so before that year. Any chance of checking a year or so prior to 1837? I don't have a marriage date so am trying different other ways to find a marriage date or any info on the family. This info was taken from a record written in French. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!
