    2. On a confusing note: The town of Moran (what informally has been called Moran School) is in Brevort Twonship. I Just to make things clearer: the town of Brevort is in Moran Township! Presently, Moran Twp. has Gros Cap School and the 9 - 12 grades go to St. Ignace Schools. Just for fun: Moran Bay is located in the City of St.Ignace! There is a copy in the St. Ignace Library. Contact the St. Ignace Chamber of Commerce for information on purchasing a copy. I was fortunate and was visiting St. Ignace in June and read an article in the newspaper stating they had a limited number of new copies for sale. I paid for mine and they sent it to me. Contact me directly if you would like more info. Pam

    1. [MIMac] Maurice Parmelee in Mackinac Co, MI
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HGB.2ACI/444 Message Board Post: Has anyone on the list ever heard of Maurice Parmelee who lived in Mackinac County at least from 1953-1955? He was originally from Traverse City, Grand Traverse Co, MI. I have placed him in Mackinac County from the following newspaper articles: Traverse City Record Eagle, June 24, 1955 Return Home - Mr. and Mrs. Morris Parmelee have returned to St. Ignace after spending a few days at Williamsburg as guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Encell Brinkman. Dec 12, 1953, Traverse City Record Eagle Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Parmlee of Cedarville were guests of their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Encell Brinkman early this week. Maurice Parmelee disapears from Grand Traverse Co after the 1910 census and the two articles above are the only information I have on his whereabouts. Any reference to him that anyone may find for me would be truly appreciated. Did he die in Mackinac County? His wife and children? Anything at all. I am researching his Parmelee family in Grand Traverse County and he is my mystery. Thank you in advance Pauline Hammond

Part of your message read: "and the Doner's and Davis's as well, as mother-in law was a Davis and her Mother was a Doner." My grandmother was a Doner, b. March 31, 1873 on Mackinac Island to Antoine Doner/Madaline Asselin. I have been researching this family for a long time. Is this the same Doner family you're researching? If so, I would very much like to hear from you. Thank you, Judy King

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Mulcrone, Mulchrone, Eddy, O'Donnell, Chambers Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HGB.2ACI/443 Message Board Post: I am searching for more information on my family from Mackinac Is and St. Ignace. If anyone can add to the info I list below or guide me to more sources, books or news articles on them, I would greatly appreciate it!!! My ggggrand parents, Charles and Ann (Chambers) Mulcrone settled on Mackinac Is in 1853. One of their sons, John Mulcrone was a keeper for the Waugoshance lighthouse from 1877-1881. In St. Ignace, John and his brother Michael Mulcrone started a business called Mulcrone Brothers in July of 1888. It expanded to Mulcrone Block on State Street. Included in the block was the first brick building in Mackinac county and Mulcrone Hall, one of the first buildings in St. Ignace to have electrical lights (this may have been the brick building?). Their businesses also included a men's store on Mackinac Is and Mulcrone's Bazaar in St. Ignace. The brothers also owned and operated 2 ferry boats- The North Star and Columbia. John Mulcrone served on the school board as well as mayor of St. Ignace 1896 and 1897. Michael Mulcrone was postmaster St. Ignace and also served as mayor in 1885. There were other Mulcrone's involved in St. Ignace. They were close relatives of Michael and John. John and Michael's father, Charles Mulcrone and his nephew, Patrick Mulcrone of Chicago (Charles's brother, Michael Mulcrone) established a meat market in St. Ignace. I am not sure, but I also believe either Patrick (married to Ellen O'Donnell) or his son Charles (married to Clara Eddy) was also mayor of St. Ignace. Thanks, Anne
