Hi Phil, I'm researching the Terriens and Belangers of Mackinac, who were in-laws, neighbors and friends of the Lozons. In the middle part of the 19th century these families worked together at fishing. After Madeleine's death in 1865, Noel Leveille married Madeleine's sister, Elizabeth, widow of Oliver Terrien. Most of the info below is borrowed, but I do have my own notes for some of it. If you'd like sources for anything in particular, just let me know, I'll see what I have. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Trudeau, Dumouchel, Lagotterie, Bertrand Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HGB.2ACI/450 Message Board Post: Looking for parents of Archange Dumouchel (Dumouchelle) who married Louis Rene Trudeau in the old Cathedral of St. Louis, Missouri, on Sept. 22, 1814. Record of marriage says she was eldest daughter of "Janot" and Marguerite Dumouchelle who were both deceased. She was born in 1798, according to her death record. Louis Trudeau (and his ancestors) was involved in the fur trade out of Mackinac. I think that Archange may be a grand daughter of Louis Pascal Dumouchel who married Francoise Sauvagesse at Mackinac in 1769 who had sons Bernard, Jean and Joachim. Maria Lagotterie, widow of Jean Dumouchel, married blacksmith Siman Bertrand July 2, 1815, at Cahokia, Illinois. Antoine Louis, son of Louis Rene Trudeau and Archange Dumouchel, was baptized at Cahokia June 9, 1823. Can anyone tell me if this Jean Dumouchel, former husband of Maria Lagotterie (who was his second wife), is the father of Archange, or if he is the son of Louis Pascal Dumouchel?

And I have some missing Hummels, who were in Buffalo, Erie Co., PA in 1840, and Portage Co, WI in 1860. Mackinaw Island is right in the middle by water. Ambrose Hummel, b. 1835 in Buffalo, NY, son of Michel and Maria (Rombach) Hummel, married Margaret Mersch around 1856 probably in Portage co., WI (marriage records no longer exist, but first child was born in Portage Co, WI in 1858). There may have been three other children, who were listed in the 1840 census, born in the 1830's.
