He married Comfort Jane Cloud Oct. 7, 1849 in Hancock County, Tennessee. There speculation in my family that James left home to join the Civil War and was never heard from again. But they also say he joined the Missouri Militia April 1863 and was on furrlow heading home and was bushwacked. they stole his gun and horse and left him to died in the snow. James and Comfort Jane had 5 children and she remarried James Davis Holstein. Any information would be appreciated. ============================== Search the US Census Collection.
