Shirley and Carolyn and List There was another John MILLS B: 1760, son of John B: 1733/1741/ and several other dates I have seen for him, with spouse Rebecca SMITH, who is listed as being from PA.(He is also listed with a spouse as Rachel SMITH.) Possibly the LEONARD and SMITH Rachel have been co mingled too, their children, that is. This family MILLS were apparently in or near the other MILLS, of Philadelphia, PA links, who went to Ontario, Canada. John Sr. from New Jersey, and John and Parker also went up to Ontario, Canada. And I believe that there is also another John B: 1760, who was a son of a son of one of the John MILLS B: 1688/87/ etc., several other dates, who is also in or near PA at about the same time frame. I also remember reading, cannot site the reference at present, but there were entries about MILLS and many other families who had to flee from PA because the Indians were raiding constantly and it became too much to try to stay there, ( I am sure it was not from Philadelphia, but some outlying area) so they left and either returned or moved down to MD or NJ or NC or TN. Beverly Whitaker has also written me about these John's MILLS, and she feels that several have been linked incorrectly. Again, I believe that our computer age, has brought out more glaring errors on previous researchers assumptions, without verifying them. We can only use their old research as guidelines, and basically start from scratch to absolutely verify their work. But again, Is not what genealogy really is? Digging into the past for ancestors, skeletons and all. Pat cw
