    3. Chandler, good note! I'm glad to see that an accurate account is provided on this John Mills family for a change. I would like to let everyone know I have verified and confirmed most all of the information, on the first five children by John b. ca1688 (Thomas b.1709, John b.1712, Hur b.1714, Henry b. 1720 and Mary b.1722) and his first wife. However the 7 children by his second wife Rebeckah.( William b.1742, Rebeckah b. 1745, Benjamin b. 1747, George b. 1747, dau. Alias b. 1750, Tabitha b. 1753, and Jonathan b. 1757) are not found in any of my research. Many time I have seen links that could be to these 7 children, but never a confirming document or reference. In conclusion, I'm relatively certain that the Moses Mills of this thread is not part of the above line. This family and their children were all active Quakers and well documented in the Monthly Meeting records. There were only Two Moses Mills' in this line, and their birth dates were 1743 and 1787. The third Moses listed in Monthly Meeting records, was not a fit based on location, I think VA and a much later birth date (let me know I can look up the third Moses details if anyone would like them.) 3. In connection with the search for the parents of my Moses Mills (ca1747-1833),the following info is set forth: When Moses Mills and Keronhappuck Rather were married in 1787 in Chrlotte Co., VA,sureties on marriage bond were James Mills & Francis Clark. On a petition of sundry inhabitants of Prince Edward Co., VA, 11 Oct 1776, the names Francis Clark and William Mills appear together on the list of signers. My Moses Mills had only one daughter whom was named Martha Clabourn Mills. There was a Claiborn Mills who was a surety in Lunenburg Co., VA in 1814. In a book entitled "The Old Free State" by Bell, the index has the name Claborn Mills. A Charlotte Co., VA tax list B showed the name John Claiborn. Charlotte Co. Deed 4 Nov 1774 contains the name of Richard Claiborne. Charlotte Co. personal property tax list for 1787 shows one John Claiborn. Since my Moses Mills was a resident of Halifax Co., VA in 1776 when he enlisted in the Rev. War, some Halifax Co. references to Mills are: Marriage, Henry Mills and Judith Brizendine, 13 Jul 1804. Marriage, Mathew Mills and Sarah Challice, 28 Sep 1775. Halifax deed book 9, 1773, George Mills sells to John Baird. Halifax Will book 1792-1797 has several refs. to Antony Mills. Halifax Deed book 14, 1790, has a John Mills as an adjoining property owner. Same deed book shows one Susannah Mills, wife of Anthony Mills. Halifax Court Orders 1763, William Terrell Mills, plaintiff. Halifax Court Orders 1760, John Mills, plaintiff. Halifax Court Orders 1761, John Mills, Adm. of estate of Wm. Crawford. Halifax Court Orders 1759, James Mills granted judgment. Charlotte Co. Will Book 1765-1791, page 15,1768 Will of William Terrel Mills, leaves land in Lunenburg Co. and remainder of estate to be divided between 3 brothers and 2 sisters, to wit, Mathew, Charles, Meanan, Milley and Betty. Executors Matthew Mills and Charles Mills. Codicil leaves additional property to Charles Mills. Will proved 6 Feb 1769.
