Hi Ken, as best as I have been able to determine the Indian line of descent is through Rueben Mills wife Amelia Elliott Mills. Amelia Elliott Mills was the grandaughter of William Harris who was born about 1750 in Brunswick Co. Va. Brunswick Co. Va. is where the Saponi Indians were settled at on a reservation near Fort Christanna, Harris and Lynch are both surnames found among the Saponi indians and both of these surnames appear in my family tree...i'm currently in correspondence with the Haliwa-Saponi tribe, and Occaneechi Band of Saponi to try to document and learn more about the Harris & Lynch families. Jeff Beard No Powhatan ancestry, just Cherokee, Creek, and Saponi Kbpoolegen@aol.com wrote: Hi, I have no Indian descent from a Montgomery Co., NC Mills family. But the Mills lived very near a Mr John Bolling and his wife Mary, John was born in 1729, and settled on the Forks of the Little River (John Bolling first was in NC in 1755) . He claimed Indian descent from Pocahontas, and in fact used the name Metucha (spelling) which was the Indian name for Pocahondas. Any Bolling's in your line?
