There were Mills that were Quakers in Guilford NC and John Mills started the Quaker Meeting at Lost Creek Tennessee in Jefferson County. Google those two sites and use Quaker also. Hi, Regarding the Quaker Mills, there is evidence some of them were Quakers. The first Mills into the area, so far as I can learn, was James Mills and a Robert Mills. This is said to be the origin of the present Montgomery Mills family. The land for Montgomery Co.NC was then Anson County, NC. Most of the people I run into researching this family say they came from the James River, in Virginia. But, I'm learning too.
