Mills Sr., 65, of McDonough Street, Plattsburgh, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 21, 2006, at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Hartford, Conn., on Sept. 28, 1940, the son of Daniel and Mary (Crooms) Mills. Allan retired from the U.S. Air Force after 26 years of service. He then worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Plattsburgh for 17 years before he became disabled as a result of being hit by a motor vehicle. Allan was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 125 and the American Legion Post 20. He enjoyed playing the lottery, scratch off games and going to the casino. His parents; four brothers, Roland, Harold, Daniel and Frank; and a sister, Lucille Batchelder predeceased Allan. He is survived by his wife Linda (Young) Mills of Plattsburgh; three sons, Allan Mills Jr. and his companion Hope of Kosovo, John Mills of New Jersey, Gregory Mills of New Jersey; several grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Calling hours were held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held today at 11 a.m. from the Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William G. Reamer, chaplain at CVPH Medical Center, officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery with full military honors. Members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 125 and the American Legion Post 20 met Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home for services.
