Jeremiah married 12 Nov 1766 to Elizabeth Marsh at the First Presbyterian Church in Westfield, Essex Co. (now Union Co.), NJ. He attended the Scotch Plains Baptist Church, and church records validate his membership in the church. His name appears in the church records (as seen by ASH). He is buried at the Scotch Plains Baptist Church Cemetery, Scotch Plains, Union Co., NJ. Inventory of the estate of Jeremiah MILLS (Sr.) is recorded 1825 in Essex Co., NJ. (Source: MILLS Family File at Westfield, Union Co., NJ library: Unknown contributor) Jeremiah Mills (I) and William Mills (II) were appointed administrators on the estate of William Mills (I) on 20 March 1795. (Source: Essex Co., NJ Probate Documents 8388-96 on FHL microfilm 545,466) [Note: At this time it is not known if Jeremiah (Sr.) was s/o William Mills (I) & Amy. There is no record found of their relationship to each other. However, when Amy wrote her will she only made her daughters legatees and some grandchildren. And, William Mills III and Jeremiah Mills Jr.(perhaps cousins) were both in Warren Co., OH, until William III (my ancestor) moved to Shelby Co., OH. Children: 1. David Daniel Mills David m #1 Nancy Ellen FAGIN & #2 Jerusha ???. David & Nancy lived in Sharonville, Hamilton Co., OH[which was the town laid out by Philemon Elmer MILLS, s/o William #1 & Amy MILLS ASH]. David removed to OH, and lived near Cincinnati, where many of his descendants still reside. Ancient, Warren Co., OH, which is located right before you go down the hill to the river on St. Rd. 350 on the side opposite Ft. Ancient. Church to (1) Abigail Bryant, dau/o John Briant/Bryant and Abigail Baker. [My ancestor, William Mills III m 1810 Scotch Plains Bapt. Church also. I saw records of both marriages. Jeremiah Jr. was about 20y older than William III. ASH] Jeremiah, Jr. relocated to Warren Co., OH. He and Abigail were the parents of Dayton, Elizabeth, Sarah, Abigail, and Julia Ann. Abigail (Bryant) Mills died 10 June 1827 in Warren Co., OH. Jeremiah (Jr. then married 18 September 1828 Warren Co., OH to (2) Elizabeth Monteith (Patterson) Williams, a widow. Jeremiah (Jr.)and (2) Elizabeth were the parents of Jeremiah Mills III. Elizabeth Monteith (Patterson) Williams-Mills died 22 Nov 1857 & Jeremiah (Jr.) died 11 Dec 1860, both in Warren Co., OH. He is buried at Ft. Ancient. [I have a gravestone rubbing.
