Hi Don and John: I seem to have picked up a family file on the family of John MILLS of Braintree. It lists the John MILLS and Susannah B:1595 and d: 12 10 1675 age 80 yrs at Braintree, Quincy, MA. Unfortunately, the person whose database I seem to have collected suppressed the sources. So Do not know who this came from. Maybe it is posted on rootsweb.com or elsewhere with more documentation. This is the family of Joy, Recompense, John, Jonathan, James, etc. Surnames here were Shove, Davis, Hawkins, Sheffield. John Jr. married Mary SHOVE, and they had 9 children, Elizabeth, Sarah, Capt. John, Jonathan, Edward, Susannah, Mary, Nathaniel, Susannah 2. This surname group were: Hayward, Willard, Spear. Vinton, Sturgis, White. Those are the only surnames that show on marriages that had offspring. Willard married Mather and Thomas, and Cowdry, Lefevre, Bosworth. Rice. I apparently did not download any further, because there were no MILLS further at that particular research exercise. Sorry I could not help more. Pat cw You might try lateral research, that is, the husband of the MILLS, and see if it might go back to MILLS in Braintree, or wherever the source might have been.
